Authors are invited to submit abstracts to the 14th International Heat Transfer Conference, to be held in Washington, DC in August, 2010, under the auspices of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The conference is overseen by the Assembly for International Heat Transfer Conferences (AIHTC), which represents some 25 professional engineering societies active worldwide in thermal science and engineering. The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for the exposure and exchange of ideas, methods, and results in heat and mass transfer.

In addition to the fundamentals of thermal phenomena and traditional thermal applications, the 14th IHTC is expected to address the emerging domains of thermal transport in nano-materials, bio-systems, power generation, microsystems, energy conversion devices, aerospace, transportation, and environmental systems. Selected papers from the conference will be published in special volumes of the Journal of Heat Transfer or in other ASME journals.

The IHTC-13, which was held in Sydney, Australia, was a tremendous success, with over 800 participants from 55 countries. Over 1000 participants are expected for IHTC-14, which will include keynote lectures, poster sessions, professional development courses, and exhibits of heat transfer equipment, services, and publications. The following ASME divisions and professional societies are co-sponsoring the conference:

- ASME Heat Transfer Division
- ASME Bioengineering Division
- ASME Electronic and Photonic Packaging Division
- ASME IGTI/Heat Transfer in Gas Turbines
- ASME Nuclear Engineering Division
- American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)
- American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AI ChE)
- Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME)
Supporting Society: American Nuclear Society (ANS)
