FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS

SUSTAINING ENGINEERS OF TOMORROW

The 7th International Conference on Robotic, Vision, Signal Processing, & Power Applications (RoViSP 2009) is organized by School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. This conference marks the continuation of the 6th RoViSP held in 2007, which had successfully gathered as many as 200 presenters from different countries.

RoViSP 2009 provides an avenue for researchers, scientists, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all around the globe to present their research results and development activities. The conference will feature world-class speakers, tutorials and over 10 lecture sessions. We welcome papers describing original work in, but not limited to, the following areas to be considered for oral presentations:

-	Robotics, control, mechatronics, and automation
-	Vision, image, and signal processing
-	Artificial intelligence and computer applications
-	Electronic design and applications
-	Telecommunication systems and applications
-	Power system and industrial applications

Our keynote speakers include Prof. Lakhmi C. Jain (Australia) and Kevin Schultz (USA).

The venue: beautiful, legendary Langkawi is the biggest island making up an archipelago of more than 99 islands. Situated on the north western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, where the Straits of Malacca meets the waters of the Andaman Seas, it is an internationally and locally recognized tourist destination. Blessed with pristine beaches, crystal clear tropical waters, colorful underwater fauna and other unique places of attraction, there are caves to be explored, eagles to be fed, island hopping by chartered boats and a mountainous summit reachable by cable cars, amongst its other natural diversities. As a duty free zone, the island is also a haven for shoppers. Langkawi has it all. (An Island Tour will be held on 21st December 2009 (extra charges will be incurred)).
